Description: |
The machinist is responsible for the production of plastic and steel prototype and production parts Using Haas, 3 and 4 axis machining centers. The hours for this position will be 3rd shift, 11pm – 7:30am Monday through Friday.

An associate in this position must have a high regard for safety and make use of the tools and practices provided to insure a safe work environment, including proper lifting techniques and operation of equipment. |
Duties: |
To perform this job successfully, the associate will possess the knowledge and ability to:
* Program using MasterCam x 5, set-up machines and complete production runs;
* Create prototypes from engineering models to test concepts
* Advise on concepts in regards to machining capabilities;
* Make fixtures or tools as needed;
* Carry out preventative maintenance and minor repairs on the CNC machine, band saw, and other equipment;
* Mentor Machine Operators and Utility Associates;
* Accept accountability for the prudent stewardship of department assets and their proper risk management. |
Qualifications: |
Education/Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and one to three years related experience and/or training in CNC programming; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
